The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has released a contract notice for a Technology Innovation Marketplace, valued at £650m. Opportunities will be placed on a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) over a two-year period; thanks to the new DPS platform, suppliers can bid for a place on this framework at any point.
CCS has stated that:
“The new DPS will enable customers to access technology innovations and provide suppliers with a flexible and adaptable route to market which is quick to apply for.”

The notice states that this new marketplace “will provide central government and wider public sector departments the opportunity to procure an extensive range of innovative technology products and services”.
The Crown Commercial Service is taking huge steps in terms of growing the public sector’s technological capabilities, with £91.2m spent via the G-Cloud 11 contract up to the start of 2019. This figure is much smaller than the £771m that was spent via the G-Cloud 9 framework.
